LinkedIn has rolled out two cutting-edge AI tools aimed at transforming the job search and recruitment landscape. The first, Jobs Match, leverages artificial intelligence to evaluate how well a candidate’s profile aligns with a job’s requirements. This feature empowers job seekers to identify roles that best match their skills and experience, saving time and effort.

On the recruitment side, LinkedIn’s AI recruitment agent is designed to assist HR professionals, particularly those in smaller businesses. This tool simplifies the hiring process by automating tasks such as crafting job descriptions, identifying qualified candidates, and assessing their suitability for roles.

A New Era for Job Searches and Recruitment

In response to the global skills shortage, LinkedIn has made these tools free for all users. However, Premium subscribers will enjoy enhanced versions with more detailed insights and advanced functionalities.

These tools mark a significant step forward in LinkedIn’s AI capabilities. Unlike many of the platform’s existing smart tools, which rely on OpenAI’s models, these new features are powered by LinkedIn’s proprietary AI models and first-party data.

Recent LinkedIn research underscores the need for such innovations. According to the findings, 42% of hirers report that fewer than half of applicants meet their desired criteria. Additionally, 79% of recruiters say the hiring process has become more challenging than ever.

The rapid evolution of the job market further complicates recruitment efforts. For instance, 55% of the roles featured on LinkedIn’s UK Jobs on the Rise list didn’t exist 25 years ago, highlighting the dynamic nature of today’s employment landscape.

Rohan Rajiv, LinkedIn’s Product Manager, shared insights with TechCrunch: "Recruiters are spending three to five hours daily sifting through applications, only to find that less than half meet the required criteria. This system is broken, and we’re determined to fix it."

With these new AI tools, LinkedIn aims to streamline the hiring process, making it more efficient and effective for both job seekers and recruiters.
